[...] I’m excited about where I am on my blog. I’ve been reviewing where I was a year ago and I find that a year later I’m so closely aligned with this thought process and contemplation about my blog again that it’s almost spooky! I’ve been spending a great deal of time lately re-evaluated where I’m going, what I’ve done, what I’m doing and what I want to do with all of it…especially as it relates to this blog. I’m really looking forward to some of the ideas I’ve come up with. Now I just need time to blog and implement them. [...]

[...] But he persisted and on August 4, 2006 I let him set me one up. And he gloated. A few weeks later I admitted that he may be right and everything snowballed. A few days later I found the direction for my blog. Now I had a reason to learn more about it so I joined/signed up at Technorati. My opening rank was in the high 700,000 range. Eight weeks later I broke 160,000. Apparently someone was reading my blog. What’s more is my traffic graph indicates that 50-60% of my traffic is returning traffic. Hmmmmm. [...]

[...] In my last post I talked about learning to color masterpieces in our lives when our favorite color isn’t available. You have to learn to mix and match and above all you have to keep painting. I guess this is part two to this concept. [...]

[...] Trust your intuition and your instincts. Be true to them. I’m certainly not the biggest blogging success story around, not by a long-shot. But something within me said, “Write This Article”. I kind of backed away from it for a few days (weeks, even!), thinking, who the heck am I to be writing about this? I am no BoingBoing or Engadget. But I do know businesses, I know sales and I know people. I know what motivates us to take action, and what keeps us in inaction. I know in my heart the eMoms at Home blog is the start of something bigger than I had dreamed it would become. So I took the leap of faith and listened to my intuition and wrote the article. I may get flamed, I may get laughed at, and I may make a difference for many, many people who really want to be professional bloggers. If I help one person do that, then this article is a success to me. [Added 8.18.06 :: mission accomplished!!] [...]

Thanks Wendy! I saw your name in my e-mail on a new comment and felt a rush of adrenaline! LOL It's fun to make connections and I'm grateful you'd take the time to drop in and leave a comment. I'm even more grateful that you'd share you're adopted and your view of it! As for my hubby - he is an amazing person and I am the lucky one to have him! ;o)

Hugs,
Holly

What a great post Holly! And thanks for the kudos! I'm adopted myself - and am darn grateful that a pink crayon wasn't around when my "real" parents brought me into their lives. They have always been "mom and dad". I have my own three kids now, and there has never been a thought in my mind that there is any difference between the relationship I have with my kids, and the one I have with my parents. In fact, I definitely am more like my parents than I like to admit at times! ;)

Keep writing and shouting out in your own voice - I think your hubby is right. I think he's the perfect kind of person I would want to have in my "Peer Group" - I believe he sees you as you really are - and is encouraging you to live it! You're a lucky lady! :)
