Hi Linda,

Thanks! Amen to corrective experiences. It's only when we become so selfishly wrapped up in ourselves that we miss this magic. Thanks for taking time to comment!

Hugs,

Nice post! I've always said that the best marriages are corrective experiences, they undo the bad, challenge the not so perfect cultures of our families of origin.

Being your childs advocate is very important... My kid, who is very smart, clever, and sweet has had a positive experince in her education... that is untill fourth grade. The system seems to have conspired to work against her. It was so bad we actually sold our house and moved to an entirely different school district. Great article.

Bodacious? ;-)

I totally get where you're coming from--only from the other side. ADD wasn't around back then when we were in school but guess what... I have ADD... I also grew up with a father (whom I love dearly) that routinely told me I was stupid. I've made a vow that I would NEVER call any of my kids stupid although I'm guilty of the "Think, McFly, Think" comment...

Parenting. It's a learning experience...
