Survival of the Biggest
Well, we made it and both dh and I are still alive to tell the tale. We were the biggest people at both kid’s birthday parties Saturday which was anything but a little deal. *wink*
Our son had three neighbor boys over for his treasure hunt party in the afternoon. The four little pirates had a great time.
His cake was just the right size composing of two mini bread loaf pans of brownies. The hidden chocolate coins with clues for the treasure hunt turned out to be a real hit and they had a great time playing the “Pop up Pirate” game and pirates out on the backyard toy.
I think “Arrrrrrgggghh” has become a permanent part of his vocabulary now.
Then it was three hours of princess fun for our daughter’s pajama party that night. A dozen giggly, squealing girls for three full hours - ‘Nuff said.
I went all out including the fancy punchbowl and mini plastic champagne glasses, complete with drink umbrellas. The girls got a real kick out of that. The cake was 5 twinkie/doughnut girls sleeping on top a strawberry cake. The Princess Diaries 2 movie didn’t hold the interest of all the girls the entire time, but making picture frames for their favor (a picture with the birthday girl) did. And the balloons all over were by far the best toy and loudest entertainment! LOL
Dh and I slept well that night.
I’ll get the scrapbook pages shared shortly, but for now my birthday girl (today is her birthday) is keeping me honest with the clock so we can make it to the morning matinee of “Open Season” so I must jet!

Wow! You’re brave having the two parties on the same day! I think two parties in a MONTH is bad!!!
Oooh…. We went to Open Season Saturday night… The kids’ll love it.
