Several years ago I received a copy of the following story. It hit me with deep impact. Maybe it was because my own mother taught me at an early age that a great person always argued a point from the opposite side before casting an opinion, or maybe it’s just because it’s a fantastic story. At any rate, it’s worth sharing.

It’s a new week and time for another Simple Balance tip! I’ve always been a fairly early adapter to technology, so far as I can afford it. Our lives are so much different with the many available modes of communication today. Striking a balance between the time spent using it and the time saved using it can be more like a tightrope walk than a stroll down a bike path.

My Cid has always loved the camera (obviously money too) - it comes naturally to her. On the other hand, my little Tay doesn’t share the love. I get moments (very brief), hence the bribe as you can see how he really feels. Here’s how the rest of the session went…Ah the power of the almighty dollar…LOL

Wordless Wednesday
Yesterday I went down to retrieve my kiddos from the cul-de-sac group play. I was talking with a neighbor and I looked down to see a car pull into the home next to mine (which is vacant and for sale.) A few moments later I see a woman I only recognize by site as the wife of the neighbor I met a few times right after our move and before theirs, I’ve never officially met her. But the interesting part is who is by her side talking with her. It’s my daughter.

Well, we made it and both dh and I are still alive to tell the tale. We were the biggest people at both kid’s birthday parties Saturday which was anything but a little deal. *wink*

It’s official. He’s four years old today. Birthdays bring mixed emotions for me. I celebrate the day my children were born and revel in the memories of all their years to this point. And my heart aches for their amazing birthmothers who not only gave them life but a loving family too. This goes out to my sweet birthday boy and his wonderful birthmommy:
