It IS A Wonderful Life!

Filed under: Family, Holidays, Sharing — holly.schwendiman @ 4:19 pm

What a fantastic holiday we’re having at my house! Christmas was so wonderful! Tay has almost worn out his new bike (for sure he’s worn out his backside informing us of how it hurts! LOL), and Cid has found a way to stay up on her Heelys shoes at least 75% of the time now. It was just a perfect Christmas Eve and Christmas Day all the way around. We made fondue for the first time since we’ve been married (we’ve been inspired by The Melting Pot), and all three courses turned out as wonderful as our trips to the restaurant so I was all smiles. Cid was just delighted to have the “grown-up” glasses out and she and Tay kept asking to do “cheers” all meal long. It was great fun.

As much as I love blogging, I’ve truly enjoyed my little vacation this week as well. It’s nice to spend more time with the family doing things. We took in Rocky yesterday at the theatre (because Eragon was sold out) and it was surprisingly enjoyable. Then we watched Coach Carter last night and that was an great show too. Always too much “reality” in shows today, but I liked that both stories held the concept of self-improvement. I think that’s partly why I like the blogosphere so much too. And I’m grateful that most bloggers aren’t keeping up their usual pace this week either as I may even have a chance to keep up with some reading. ;o)

This morning was extremely productive for me resulting in the house being “found” after the Christmas fun - all the decorations are put away and new things have found their place. Which means I can truly relax and enjoy tomorrow. And a big shout out to my friend Laura for remembering me TWICE already for that birthday that finds me tomorrow. It is always nice to be remembered. Snoopy smiles right back at ya!

Next week I should be back to my normal game and posting, but for now I’m enjoying every moment with my family. In the meantime (of downtime) for me, here are some of my favorite blogs you should check out:

Pass The Torch
Island Life
Long Relationships
The Whippoorwill Chronicles

  2. Glad to see happy smiling faces at the end of a holiday! Cheers! Happy New Year!

Yes, smiles at the end are welcome indeed as there is often a great ability for frowns to invade by then!! ;o)

  4. Holly, the slower pace HAS been nice :). The only thing is, I find myself with a thousand thoughts to record, and slowly, they’re slipping away. Selfishly, I’m afraid, I’m thankful bloggers have slowed down a bit, too, so I don’t feel so “far behind” :).

btw…………IS TODAY YOUR BIRTHDAY??? HAPPY HAPPY sweet lady! :)

Thank heaven for the blogging pensieves eh?! LOL Sadly, I find that I actually have to save article titles with a few bullets of basics to keep from losing my thoughts! LOL Yes, today is the day - - thank you!!

  5. Happy Birthday to you! :) With Ashlyn off visiting her Dad, we’ve just been puttering around the house together. It’s good to hear that Rocky was a good surprise, we’ve been debating on seeing it in the theatre or awaiting it on DVD. We’re going to go to the movies today, perhaps we’ll choose Rocky. :) Have a great day! I’m envious that you got your house back already. :)

Thank you! If you do choose Rocky I look forward to your thoughts on it. ;o)

  6. Hmm, I haven’t even thought about finding the house yet, but I usually don’t until after rush! I’m so glad that you had a wonderful holiday, and I’m hoping your birthday is the best. By the way, how did you get to be so old? Guess you know what that does to me!! Love you!

That’s because you’ve got too much busy work with a new semester going on at work. ;o) I don’t know how it happens, but I’m sure glad you had me so I could find out! ;o) Love you!

  7. *blushing* You’re welcome!

I’m at “home” in the ‘Burg and on my mom’s ‘puters so I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to check in today (we’re heading home to SL in a few minutes)… I didn’t want to miss your birthday!!!

    Happy B-day again! (((((hugs)))))

  8. Happy Happy Birthday! You’re born 1 day before Baby Bug! Was that hard for you when you were a child? Did people give you one gift for birthday & Christmas? I hope BB doesn’t get lost in the holiday shuffle in years to come.

Thanks! My folks were always good about making my birthday special but friends were the worst for a birthday/Christmas combo gift - even with a separate bday party. Happy early bday to Baby Bug!!
