The Fun We’re Having
What an amazing start to our family vacation. We arrived at our hotel in New York City Wednesday evening in time for the fireworks which we enjoyed immensely from our room. We spent Thursday taking in the sites of the city and Friday driving to the beach. Later, I’ll post how fun it was to fit all our luggage and Sam’s Club shopping for the troops (there are 20 of us at the beach) into our car. Saturday was the first day at the beach and we made a full day of it. Yesterday we had a lot of family fun with all the kids putting on a show of their various talents for all the adults, and ending the day with a showing of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at a local theatre. And we’re just beginning! It’s been amazing. But don’t take my word for it. Here are some pictures!
Wednesday, July 4th - From our hotel room:

Thursday, July 5th - Downtown, Central Park, Broadway

American Girl Doll Store & The Disney Store

Central Park

Broadway
Saturday, July 7th - Beach (Day 1)

I can’t believe we’re only starting day 5! The past 4 days feel like two weeks worth of vacation to me. So far everything’s been amazing but the Lion King reigns supreme thus far! We’ll be enjoying the whole week here at the beach house before moving on Philadelphia for a few nights. Did I mention how much fun we’re having?!

Those fire works are beautiful! I have always wondered what they would look like from higher ground, I bet that was amazing!
I would love to see the Lion King production, I have heard that it’s really good.
I’m glad you are having such a good time
It was incredible and the Lion King is in a league all it’s own. It’s SO nice to be on vacation!! (and still have internet!)

Looks like great fun. We saw Lion King in LA and it was one the highlights of our trip too well worth the money.
Absolutely worth it. Were they able to do as much with the set/stage in the traveling show?

Great show huh? Our firework were dinky and the baby was scared. We had fun tho. Looks like you did too!
It was fun, my son was done after about 10 minutes though! He kept saying he wanted to go to bed. LOL

The Lion King was great when we saw it in Phoenix, I can only imagine how wonderful it was on Broadway! My only regret afterwards was that we had gone without any of the children in the family with us.
My favorite pic is the one of Blake in the hole in the sand. I’ll bet the kids loved that!
Enjoy the remainder of your trip.
Hi Barbara! I’m sorry we missed it in Phoenix but SO glad we got to see it on Broadway. It is in a league all it’s own isn’t it?! I’m going to live up the cooler weather because I know it’s been miserably hot there this week!

Great photos! Looks like you had loads of fun.
I never get tired of looking at fireworks display!
Did the kiddies love the musical show?
LOVED it…as if I were dangling chocolate or cotton candy in front of them the entire time!! I know what you mean about fireworks…love them.

Looks like a wonderful vacation Holly! Those fireworks photos are so incredible and I’ve heard that The Lion King Broadway production is fantastic. Have a great time on the rest of your trip.
Thank you! I was really lucky to get such great night shots from behind two panes of glass! After about the 3rd round of fireworks is was so clogged with smoke you could barely see them so I’m glad I caught the first couple!

Thank you! This is TOO much fun.

You really should post more pictures of yourself…. your kids are gorgeous, but you’re beautiful too! Don’t forget about you! Glad to see you’re having a great summer, without education drama from school!
It is a welcome change from education drama….and you’re TOO sweet about pictures, but THANKS! I’ll take it.

That’s a great fireworks photo and you didn’t even have to drive around looking for parking. Looks like your “Spiderboy” is planning on adopting the dog from the Disney store. Central Park looks nicer than I imagined. Looks like the family had a lot of fun.
Yes, couldn’t beat the view/seats. Central Park is very nice…and very big!

[…] That is to say I think I just figured out why I LOVED The Lion King so much. It was more than a fantastic show. As promised, here’s more of my review of the show. […]
