WOW Great pictures!!! Sounds like you all had the perfect celebration!! I hear you on the quiet B-days - here we trade off each year for my now 8yo, last year we hit the Skating rink with 9 of his friends, this year I will order a cake and we will celebrate at home:)

Those cakes look to pretty to cut!!

Kids birthday’s can get so out of control. I used to be a nanny and we got a b-day party invitation (4th grade girls!) one year that included a wish list for the b-day girl. That was the worst. Can you imagine the nerve of those parents?

It is growing completely out of control in my opinion.

I think those are the best birthdays parties of all. The quiet ones at home where everyone actually spends time together. Happy Birthday to both of them!

What adorable cakes! I gave up on cute cakes long ago when I tried to make a structure that was supposed to look like a giant cupcake, but turned out more like a semi-deflated hot air balloon.

Found your blog while searching for Hannah Montana (isn’t everyone?) and linked to you from mine.

You should talk to my wife. I really think she’s insane for having such big birthday parties. The kids wouldn’t care of the party was smaller. There’s also something wrong with my kids. They chose a party over going to Disneyland.

LOL - I don’t think you’re kids are so different, mine pretty much want whatever comes up at THAT MOMENT.

Those cakes are great! And I agree with your opinions on friend birthday parties. Geetle has been invited to one boy’s age 4 party and now again for his age 5 party. Already she is pressuring me to let him come to her age 5 party. Problem is that we had no plans for a friend party this year. I think its too soon, but she will have been to 2 of his parties by then. His mother is making things harder for me!

It’s so hard to balance especially with outside pressure isn’t it?!

Wow, chili and spaghetti, now that’s a meal! I love the cakes! Did you make both? Those cake classes are really paying off, they are awesome! i need to take me some cooking-errr I mean cake deco classes
